A technological incubation park in Changzhi High-tech Industrial Development Area [Photo/czctp.gov.cn]

Founded in 1992, Changzhi High-tech Industrial Development Area (長(zhǎng)治高新技術(shù)產(chǎn)業(yè)開(kāi)發(fā)區(qū)) is one of the five earliest development areas in Shanxi province and was recognized as a national high-tech development area by the State Council in 2015.

The development area, covering 104.3 square kilometers, consists of four industrial parks: Technology Industrial Park, Zhangze Industrial Park, Laodingshan Logistics Park and Zhaidian Industrial Park.

Over its development, it has formed five key industries: biomedicine, equipment manufacturing, electronic information, food and modern services. More than 4,000 companies, including 267 industrial businesses and 17 industrial companies above designated size, have settled in the area.

In 2017, the development area generated 35.83 billion yuan ($5.23 billion) in business revenue, 29.7 billion yuan in industrial output value above designated size and 2.69 billion yuan in fiscal revenue.
