Photographers recently captured images of a European Robin in the Yingze Park in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, marking the first recorded sighting of the rare bird species in the province, Shanxi Evening News reported on Monday.

"The bird was first seen on Saturday," said Liu Lu, a photographer. "The news also attracted dozens of other photographers across the province to gather at the park within two days."

Measuring around 14 centimeters, the European Robin is known for its bright orange feathers on the chest and melodious chirping. In Europe, it is seen as a symbol of hope. Its traditional distribution range spans across Europe, Asia, and North Africa.

In China, it is a rare winter migratory bird that sporadically appears in several regions. The dense shrubbery and abundant food resources in the park provided a temporary stopover for the birds, the report said.
