Shanxi province is advancing a coordinated approach to carbon reduction, pollution control, greening, and economic growth. This has achieved notable energy-saving and carbon reduction results in key industries, driving a comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development.

The province emphasizes adhering to green and low-carbon principles throughout the entire industrial development process. Over the past four years, Shanxi has promoted energy-saving and low-carbon technologies in key industries, resulting in a cumulative 13.1 percent reduction in energy consumption per unit of GDP.

Shanxi has strengthened its green manufacturing system, establishing 133 national-level green factories and eight national-level green industrial parks, with six enterprises selected as national-level green supply chain management enterprises.

Effective coal consumption control has been implemented, with strict measures for new and expanded coal projects in key areas. The province has also completed clean heating transformations across 6.92 million households and reduced bulk coal combustion by over 6 million metric tons annually.

Charging infrastructure construction has accelerated, with 123 battery swap stations and 8,847 public charging stations now in place. Shanxi has also constructed 95,000 public charging piles, making it the first northern province to achieve full public charging pile coverage in towns and sub-districts.

Shanxi is rapidly shaping the spatial layout, industrial structure, production methods, and a lifestyle that support comprehensive green and low-carbon economic and social development.
