Shanxi province was honored at the 2025 Weibo Travel Night Gala and Awards Ceremony on June 20 as the "Most Influential Domestic Destination on Weibo for 2024", with Taiyuan and Datong selected as the "Most Influential Domestic Travel Cities on Weibo for 2024".
As one of the country's most influential and authoritative online tourism events, the gala serves as a crucial benchmark for observing China's tourism consumption trends and measuring cities' online cultural tourism popularity and brand value.
Taiyuan stood out by establishing itself as a "City for Music Fans", hosting 32 famous singer concerts throughout the year, with nearly 1 million in attendance. The "concert effect" swept Weibo, with related topics consistently trending, enhancing Taiyuan's appeal as a cultural tourism destination.
