Five counties in Shanxi province have made the lists of the "2025 National Top 100 Rankings for Comprehensive Competitiveness in County-level Cultural and Tourism Integration" and the "2025 National Top 100 Rankings for Development Potential in County-level Cultural and Tourism Integration" released by Meadin Academy on June 25.

The province's counties of Pingyao, Yangcheng, and Hongtong were ranked among the top 100 for comprehensive competitiveness, with Pingyao ranking in the top ten. Xiangning and Zezhou counties were included in the development potential rankings.

The rankings were compiled based on data from 1,869 counties monitored by Meadin Academy's "National County-level Cultural and Tourism Integration Development Index Monitoring System." This research covered 32 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China, aiming for authoritative and professional rankings.

County-level tourism across the nation has shown explosive growth this year, with many regions experiencing a year-on-year increase in visitor reception of over 50 percent. Various areas are focusing on promoting rural tourism cluster development centered around counties, with county-level tourism gaining momentum as a new engine driving economic growth.
