The Department of Finance of Shanxi Province has allocated multiple subsidies to support the construction of a public cultural service system, promoting equal access to basic public cultural services and enhancing the quality of cultural services.

To advance public fitness, a central subsidy of 62.48 million yuan ($8.72 million) has been allocated to support 156 sports venues under the province's sports departments in providing basic public sports services for free or at a low cost, extending venue opening hours, and enriching service offerings. This aims to ensure equal access to basic public sports services and establish a widely covered, well-functioning, and efficient public sports service system.

A subsidy of 107.73 million yuan has been allocated for inclusive cultural services, including 79.23 million yuan from central funds and 28.5 million yuan from provincial funds. This funding supports 126 public libraries, 41 art galleries, 128 cultural centers, 1,085 township cultural stations, and 214 urban community cultural centers in the province, allowing them to operate without charging any fees.

Meanwhile, a subsidy of 89.19 million yuan has been allocated to support 48 museums and memorial halls within the scope of central subsidies, enabling them to operate freely. The focus is on helping to construct the Shanxi Museum into a nationally recognized key museum.
