Yangquan city had 21 local enterprises recognized as provincial-level innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in 2023 in Shanxi province. 

In recent years, the city has guided these local SMEs to focus on segmented industries and delve into specific areas. Efforts have also been made to improve the cultivation system of enterprises, promoting the high-quality development of SMEs. 

So far, 73 SMEs in Yangquan have won such recognition.
